School pupils name the suites at new Bury St Edmunds care home

Pupils at Horringer Court Middle School, on Glastonbury Road in Bury St Edmunds, have helped to name the four suites at the new Glastonbury Court care home, which is currently undergoing a complete redevelopment. The names chosen by the pupils are Angel, Royal, King and Abbey, which are each themed around place names within the town.

The new Glastonbury Court care home, which is directly opposite Horringer Court Middle School, has been under construction since September 2014 and is due to open its doors in early 2016. The home will include 80 ensuite bedrooms, which are arranged in to four suites, each with a lounge and dining room to create smaller community environments within the home. Doors to one of the new suites at Glastonbury Court will be open to prospective residents and their families to view from the first week of January 2016.

Jennie Rodger, who was appointed home manager at Glastonbury Court in November 2015, said: “I am delighted that pupils from Horringer Court Middle School were involved in naming the four suites at the new care home. We presented the pupils with a special prize for their efforts, a Wii games console, which the whole school will enjoy.

“It is an exciting time at Glastonbury Court as construction is nearing completion and we’re preparing to open our doors in the New Year. The Care UK teams are working on the interior décor at the moment, so we very much look forward to seeing the finished home and to seeing these excellent new suite names up on the walls.”
