From 2pm-4pm, Gavin Calder from Melville Independent Plc will be on hand to offer expert guidance on funding long-term care – whether caring for a loved one in their own home or looking at care homes. Gavin will be joined by Maggie Martin, a specialist in care planning who will discuss the importance of writing your own care plan and why it is important to stay in control of your own care.
After the event, visitors can take the opportunity to meet the team at Cairdean House and to a look around the care home.
Cairdean House home manger, Michelle Reid, said: “At Care UK, we understand that having access to the right information and clearly delivered advice can help families make sense of the care options available to them. We have therefore invited Gavin and Maggie along to lead this free session at Cairdean House.
“Gavin is a trusted expert in his field and Maggie challenges perceptions around writing plans while injecting light humour into a subject many people struggle to think about. We hope by holding this event we can spread the word about the importance of planning future care and why it so essential to talk about this this with friends and family.”
Cairdean House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
