From 12.45pm, Harm Gordijn, falls prevention specialist at Falls Management Training, will be discussing tactics for avoiding falls as well as providing guidance on how to create safer environments, reduce balance problems and help maintain independence.
Following a break for refreshments, a representative from Parkinson’s UK will be on hand to offer helpful guidance and practical tips for improving the everyday lives of people living with Parkinson’s. There will also be information on local support groups and specialist Parkinson’s services in Leamington Spa and surrounding areas.
Julia Joy, home manager at Priors House, said: “Here at Priors House we have listened to the local community and these are areas where advice and guidance are needed, so we have invited the professionals to join us for an afternoon of information and support.
“We are looking forward to opening the doors to Priors House and after each of these talks, visitors can take the opportunity to meet the team here and to a look around the care home. However, places are limited so I would urge those interested to register their attendance.”
