With the first residents having moved in to Abney Court last month, everyone at the home is gearing up to mark its official opening with a little help from some special guests, including the Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Andrew Verdeille, who will be cutting the ribbon and officially launching the care home. The Charleston Charlies, a Great Gatsby inspired party band, will also be on hand to perform hits from the 1920’s and 30’s to help the celebrations go with a swing.
Customer relations manager, Pam Wilson said: “Since we opened the doors to Abney Court last month we have had such a warm and positive response from those living locally that we already feel like part of the community. We would therefore like to invite the people of Cheadle to be part of our official opening celebrations. We have planned a family-friendly event to appeal to all generations and we are delighted to have the Charleston Charlies coming along to help us mark this important milestone.”
There will also be an opportunity for visitors to meet the team at Abney Court, take a tour of the care home and try out a selection of the lifestyle activities that are on offer.
Abney Court has been designed to enable residents to live fulfilled and active lives, with care and activities tailored to each individual. There is a cinema, hairdressing salon and a coffee shop which is well-stocked with homemade bakes. For those who want to relax outdoors, there are safe and secure landscaped gardens with attractive patio areas.
