The Health and Wellbeing event will include a variety of free sessions, including Otago exercises for healthy ageing with Age UK, reflexology and Reiki therapy, aromatherapy and professional advice from some of Suffolk’s health and wellbeing experts. The day will run from 10am to 3pm and includes refreshments throughout the day. Older people living in their own homes locally, as well as relatives and family carers, are invited to pop in at any time or stay for the whole event.
Susan Gibson, manager at the Cedrus Club, said: “The Health and Wellbeing event on 1st July is set to be an interesting day with a range of interactive activities. We look forward to welcoming the local community into the Club for what will be our first community event.”
Susan continues: “As manager at the Cedrus Club, I really enjoy getting to know the club members individually so that I can tailor the service to their and their family’s needs. I learn people’s likes and dislikes and favourite hobbies, and then develop these into exciting activities, opportunities and events for the whole Club and the wider community to enjoy.”
The Cedrus Club offers flexible day care services to help older people in the community to maintain their independence for longer. The Health and Wellbeing event will also provide an opportunity to take a tour of the new Cedrus House care home, as well as meet the care team.
