From 2-5pm family carers can visit Colne View in Halstead to meet representatives from local charities and support services. As well as access to information and practical advice, visitors can take the opportunity to relax and unwind with a choice of free pampering treatments including hand and head massages, holistic therapies and manicures.
Ana Maria Tudorache, home manager at Colne View, said: “Latest figures from Carers UK show one in eight adults are carers. This amounts to around 6.5 million people who have taken on the care of a loved one, with over one million people caring for more than person. We wanted to play a part in making life a little easier for family carers in Halstead and beyond, and to show our support for the fantastic work they do – work which is often done alongside holding down a job and other family responsibilities.
“Our event gives people the opportunity to enjoy a little time out and a spot of well-deserved pampering, while also having access to information about support services available in the local area. There will also be an opportunity to tour the care home and meet our team. Everyone will be made very welcome, so we would urge people to book their place and come along on Wednesday.”
