A ribbon cutting was performed by two guests of honour: Ex-Colonel R A Shervington, who holds many titles in and around Stansted including County President of the Royal British Legion and President of the Royal Anglian Regiment Association (Essex), and nine-year old Jessica Penny from neighbouring Bentfield Primary School. Jessica won a competition to name one of the suites at the care home earlier this year.
Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House care home, said: “As with everything we do at Mountfitchet House, our residents and their families were at the heart of the launch celebrations and we were delighted to also have two very special guests on hand to perform the official opening of the new care home.
“It was fantastic to welcome so many local people to Mountfitchet House, and the vintage-style entertainment and activities were a great success at bringing all generations together. Musician Holly Rose had everyone singing-a-long while our very own activities coordinator, Adriana Potts, led the rock and roll dancing. We really did celebrate in style and the event was a day to remember.”
Situated on the corner of Coltsfield and High Lane, Mountfitchet House provides a range of care services for older people, including residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short term respite, palliative, and sensitive end of life care.
