Summer fun for all the family at Bowes House

Members of the public were invited to drop into Bowes House care home on Battle Road in Hailsham when the Care UK team hosted an afternoon of family-friendly summer fun.

Visitors and residents sat back and relaxed while they enjoyed cream teas in the care home’s garden and took part in various activities including a raffle. Music was provided by local singing duo, the Swingtime Sweethearts, who performed classic songs by legends such as Vera Lynn and Glenn Miller.  

Home manager Alison Barnes explained why she opened the doors to Bowes House: “We wanted to take the opportunity while the sun was shining to have an event out in the garden and invite local people into Bowes House. 

“Since opening last June, we have created a warm and inviting community at the home and it was great to share that with the people of Hailsham. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and the team is already looking forward to having more events like this in the future.”

Bowes House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short term respite care.  Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hairdressers, and there is plenty of space both indoors and out for relaxation and recreation.
