Open days at Stansted’s newest care home

Care UK’s newest care home, Mountfitchet House in Stansted, is opening its doors on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September to give members of the public an opportunity to take a closer look at the care home before it welcomes its first residents on Monday 6 October.

Situated on the corner of Corner of Coltsfield and High Lane, Mountfitchet House has been designed to accommodate up to 60 residents. On course to create a total of 100 new jobs, the new care home will provide a range of services for older people in Stansted, from residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, to short term respite and sensitive palliative end of life care.

Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House, said: “The team here is very proud of Mountfitchet House and we are now looking forward to welcoming local people who want to see the purpose-built residential and nursing environment for themselves. 

“We know from experience many families value the rare opportunity to secure a palce at a brand new purpose-built care home – where their loved ones can be the first to make the most of the facilities – and we therefore expect interest will be high when we open the doors this week.”

Designed to feel like a home from home, Mountfitchet House will have its own cinema, hairdressing salon and coffee shop. There will be plenty of safe and welcoming spaces for residents and their visitors to relax outdoors, with landscaped gardens, attractive patio areas and a courtyard. Inside, each bedroom has an ensuite wet room, flat-screen television, adjustable profile bed and a 24-hour nurse call system.
