Stroud Care Home Launches Appeal to Celebrate Local Heroes

Care UK, the operator of Stroud’s newest care home Scarlet House, has today launched an appeal to find and celebrate the town’s inspirational ‘local heroes’.

Situated at 123 Westward Road in Ebley, around a mile from Stroud Train Station, Scarlet House is an 86-bedded care home which will help to meet the need for quality care in Stroud and beyond when it opens its doors in September.  The care home will provide a range of services for older people, including residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short term respite, palliative, and sensitive end of life care.

Elizabeth Miles, Customer Relations Manager for Scarlet House, explained why Care UK has today launched the search for Stroud’s local heroes.

“As we gear up to welcome to our first residents in a few months’ time, we wanted to take the opportunity to put the spotlight on the community and celebrate the many unsung heroes we believe are living in the local area.” Elizabeth said.

“There are so many people in the Stroud who give their time to make the town a happier, safer and more community- focussed place to live. We want to take this opportunity to shine a light on their efforts and to thank them on behalf of the residents of Stroud.  If you know someone who is committed, selfless and who consistently goes the extra mile for the local community, then we are appealing to you to nominate them.

“You can quickly complete your nomination online, or pop into the new Scarlet House care home at 123 Westward Road to pick up a nomination form.  Alternatively you can email elizabeth.miles@careuk.com

“The closing date for nominations is Tuesday 26th August.  We will then be selecting one especially worthy nominee to be our guest of honour at the Grand Launch event for Scarlet House, which will take place at the care home on the afternoon of Friday 24th October.  As an added bonus, the nominee and the person who nominated them will each receive a £150 John Lewis voucher, so they can suitably treat themselves.”
