The £6.5 million home is now officially open to the community following the arrival of the first residents in June, who since have settled into their new home.
There will be a variety of activities throughout the day and the Perry Manor team will be joined by Mayor Cllr Alan Amos who will be cutting the ribbon at the state-of-the-art home. Visitors can enjoy live music, take part in raffles and enjoy screenings at Perry Manor’s very own cinema. Representatives from the Alzheimers Society will be hosting Dementia Friends seminars and the home’s team will be on hand to answer any questions throughout the day.
Mike Dearn, Home Manager at Perry Manor, said: “Everyone at Perry Manor is very excited about the official launch and we are looking forward to welcoming members of the community into the home. Our first residents are now settled into Perry Manor and looking forward to the event and meeting Mayor Joseph Petty.
“We hope this event will help us forge strong ties with the local community and give local people an opportunity to see what life is like at Perry Manor.”
Those who attend the grand launch at Perry Manor will also be able to pick up a copy of Care UK’s recently published ‘Listen, Talk, Connect’ – a free guide which helps friends and relatives to overcome the challenges they may face in having conversations and general interaction with those living with dementia.
