Care UK was proud to sponsor The Annual Scottish Caring and Dementia Congress again this year. Employees from Cairdean House, in Colinton, Edinburgh, manned the stand for the day, whilst Maizie Mears-Owen, Head of Dementia Services for Care UK, took part in a panel discussing key issues regarding care.
The Congress, now in its sixth year, took place on Wednesday 2nd April 2014 at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. Various workshops, short presentations and question and answer sessions made up what proved to be an extremely busy and thought provoking day.
The aim of the Congress was to bring together all those involved in the various strands of care for elderly people, with the aim of learning from each other. Cairdean House wanted to support the event again this year as they see it as vital in ensuring continued progressive and collaborative thinking when it comes to Scottish Dementia Care.
“The Congress, prompted us all to share practices, experiences and ideas within a network of likeminded professionals and also provided a comprehensive discussion on dementia care that was fronted by a number of top researchers, doctors and professors. It was a real honour to represent Care UK at this extremely important event.” – Gary Bell, Customer Relations Manager, Cairdean House.
