Young and old packed the lounge at Care UK’s Ventress Hall care home in Darlington this week to boo, cheer and sing their way through the annual pantomime.
Each year a pantomime is performed at the home in Trinity Road to make sure that none of the residents miss out on the full Christmas experience. Home manager Judy Wray said: “Many of our resident love the theatre and we organise trips to see shows, but for some the journey is no longer possible so this is one of the ways we make sure no-one misses out.
Judy and her team were joined for the performance of Robin Hood by her 10-year-old daughter Grace and 11-year-old Courtney, the daughter of Wendy Clare, the home’s administrator.
Judy said: “Everyone had a great time joining in with the fun and singing. Grace and Courtney are regular visitors and our residents love to chat with them about school, their hobbies and, of course, Christmas.
“We are also having a visit from our local Girl Guides next week, who will be singing carols as well as enjoying some homemade mince pies with the residents and team.”
