The tean at Ellesmere House were delighted to welcome a group of health and welfare experts from South Korea as part of a visit to the UK to learn more about integrated dementia services.
The seven delegates, which included a surgeon and representatives from social services departments and private health insurance companies, spent some time looking at the residential dementia and nursing services.
Home Manager, Lynne Damaliti, said: “They were fascinated by our building, which looks quite office-like from the outside but is very warm and friendly inside.
“They were also keen to learn about how we provide rehabilitation for people who have had falls or surgery and who will be returning to their own home.
“Like the UK, South Korea has an ageing population and the ministry is keen to plan how it will help people to live healthy life styles, as well as ensuring that there is specialist care available for older people, as they need it, in a coordinated and joined-up way.”
The guests also spent time talking to the team and the residents, which everyone enjoyed, and they were very complimentary about all the services before leaving to visit social services teams and healthcare facilities in the area.
