The Cairdean House team and residents wanted to show their support for a much- loved parish church and so recently acted as a sponsor at a black tie dinner to raise funds for its organ restoration project.
The Colinton Parish Church Organ Fund needs £185,000 to restore the impressive instrument. A recent major fundraising event at Dreghorn Barracks saw 100 diners enjoy an excellent dinner and entertainment while raising an incredible £2,956 towards the total.
Customer Relations Manager Gary Bell said: “Those who attended say it was a very special night with wonderful food which was followed by dancing to the music of Bill Richardson’s Scottish Country Dance Band.
“Our home and its residents play an active part in the community life of Colinton. Some of our residents are members of the church, and groups associated with the church - including the Rev Rolf Billes and the pastoral team - visit the home, so we are keen to do anything we can to help in this very worthwhile fundraising project.”
We will be applying to Care UK for match funding for our efforts and we will keep you informed of any other fundraising events we participate in.
