Bromley’s Mayor Councillor Michael Turner cut a ceremonial ribbon at the official opening of Orpington’s newest care home, Foxbridge House.
Councillor Turner, who was joined by his wife, Mayoress Janice Turner, was the guest of honour at the grand opening of the new home in Sevenoaks Road, which will eventually see up to 84 residents moving in.
The official opening event, held for around 70 invited guests who included residents, their families and members of the local community, included champagne and Pimms, a buffet, cream teas and music from The Swingtime Sweethearts.
Manager of Foxbridge House, Rachael Adams said: “It was a fantastic day. Everyone really enjoyed it and we were so pleased the mayor and mayoress were able to come along and perform the opening ceremony for us.
“We are very proud of our new home. It has excellent facilities including a coffee shop, a cinema, hairdressing and nail salons and a secret garden. All the rooms are en suite and some even have their own private patios.
“We provide residential, dementia and nursing care and we are very much looking forward to welcoming new residents in the coming weeks.”
