Care UK’s Mill View care home will be getting in the party spirit to mark the Queen’s birthday on April 21st.
The East Grinstead home will be hosting a family fun day from 11am – 4pm and are inviting visitors from throughout the community to join them.
Visitors to the home, in Sunnyside Close, Dunnings Road will be entertained with music from the Jazz Band Duo, and can tuck into ice creams before enjoying a Best Dressed Prince and Princess competition, which will be judged by East Grinstead Mayor, Councillor Liz Bennett, who will also be officially opening the event.
Royal watchers will also be able to relive some favourite moments from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations last year, with a screening of some of the celebrations in the home’s own cinema.
Mill View manager Rosemarie Gray said: “The party is open to residents, staff, families, local schools and our neighbours.
“We have only been open for nine months but we are forging strong links with our local community. “We have a Friends of Mill View initiative which enables people to use our fantastic facilities which include our cinema, lounges, coffee shop and even our 1970’s themed retro lounge.
“This is our first Queen’s birthday party but we are hoping for a good turn out and that it will become an annual event.”
Entry to the Family Fun Day is free and all are welcome.
