It was a very special day for resident Ellen Bramson on Tuesday 29th November when she celebrated her 103rd birthday.
And she made sure the day was a great success as she planned the celebrations herself with the help of staff, her niece Jean Callagher and nephew Dennis McCarth.
The Mayor of Islington, Councillor Janet Burgess, and several fellow councillors joined residents, friends and family for all the fun which included a big cake, lots of party food and entertainment and of course, presents from her guests and from the staff.
Florence Clark, our manager, said: “Ellen is a wonderful lady. She enjoyed her 100th birthday at Lennox House and she was very much at the centre of the plans for this birthday. She picked out the dark pink colour scheme and chose the decorations. Ellen, has lived in London all her life and she plays an active role in the life of the home.”
We always find out people‟s interests, hobbies and preferences and we build their care package around them. Ellen is a good example; she makes all her own decisions and we support her in everything she wants to do. We are all looking forward to celebrating with her and having some birthday cake.”
