Clara Court has been awarded a 4 star rating for its food hygiene standards by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
The home received a 4 star, or very good, rating under the borough council’s Scores on the Doors programme, which was devised to boost food hygiene in any establishment serving food to members of the public.
All businesses and care homes serving food are thoroughly inspected by the council’s environmental health service as part of their programmed food inspections. These are carried out in accordance with the Food Standards Agency’s National Food Law Code of Practice, which sets out rules for the conduct and frequency of inspections.
Following an inspection the officer then scores the premises for a range of factors such as food hygiene, structural standards including cleanliness and confidence in management. The star rating is then advertised on the council’s website - and on the establishment’s window.
Manager Leigh Reid: “We are delighted with our rating. We have worked hard to ensure that our hygiene standards are very high and our standards and practices have now been rigorously tested by internal and external audits.
“Working with older people it is crucial to maintain constant high standards not only in care but also in hygiene and this confirms that we delivering at that high standard for our residents.”
