Mark Stacey, presenter of the BBC television show, Cash in the Attic, dropped in to help staff and residents celebrate our tenth anniversary.
Mark, who also presents other popular programmes such as Celebrity Bargain Hunt, unveiled a plaque to commemorate ten years of care.
About 70 people attended the anniversary celebrations, including the Mayor of Godalming, Mrs Joy Poulter and Mrs Mary Thomas, who is chair of the Friends of Jubilee House.
Mrs Thomas said: “This has been a wonderful day for all the residents. They really gain so much from the happy atmosphere that is generated from days like this. The staff here provided excellent care for my late husband and it is wonderful to see Jubilee House going from strength to strength.”
Tony Weedon, Care UK’s Director of Operations for Residential Care Services, presented 10-year long service certificates to members of staff including chef Mary Culley, and kitchen assistant Stephen Thomson.
Our manager, Philip Hayes, welcomed everyone to the new Garden Lounge Café, which was named following a competition among staff. The Mayor announced the winner - Linda Gatford, a member of the laundry team.
Susie Drage, led the musical entertainment, with a selection of old songs to get people dancing.
Philip said: “It was a wonderful day much enjoyed by residents and staff alike. A lot of work went into the planning and I think we ensured our tenth birthday was well and truly celebrated.”
