Ground Force star Charlie Dimmock officially opened Manor Lodge cheered on by audience of staff and guests.
The open day received enthusiastic support from the local community, with other VIPs including the Mayor Cllr Tom Willis, the Mayoress Jane Willis the Bishop of Chelmsford the Right Reverend John Gladwin and his wife Lydia. Pupils from two local schools, Boswell School and Oaklands Primary School gave performances of singing and dancing.
During the open day, Charlie Dimmock viewed our landscaped gardens and raised flowerbeds which will allow keen gardeners to continue pursuing their hobby.
Charlie said: “I’m really pleased Care UK invited me to open this new care home. Gardening can help keep you healthy and active so it’s great that residents at Manor Lodge will be able to stay green-fingered.”
