Care UK, one of the UK’s leading health and social care businesses, has started building its latest residential care home Chelmsford, Essex. This scheme, which is scheduled to open in early 2009, will be Care UK's biggest and most groundbreaking – the home has 120 beds divided into eight 15 bedded units.
The building, which will include en-suite facilities and larger bedrooms than any previous scheme, will also boast a cinema, training suite and coffee shop.
Residents will benefit from Care UK’s ABC programme, an innovative approach to the care of the elderly in nursing and care homes which breaks down simple tasks into small steps, so that residents feel able to cope and regain their confidence.
Business Development Director, Richard Pearman said: "This brand new scheme represents the next phase of our development and will provide high quality accommodation and service for older people in these locations. It demonstrates our commitment to learn from our previous experiences, improve overall space and standards and also to stretch the boundaries of what facilities are included in today's care environment
