The newly refurbished Kingsleigh, with our new extension was officially opened on Friday 29th February at 2pm.
The extension also includes a new suite for people with an early onset dementia.
Attending the event were the mayor of Woking and a number of other dignitaries.
The home has undergone an extensive extension and refurbishment. The work has resulted in 17 new bedrooms, all with en suite facilities.
In addition, four existing rooms have been made en suite and the remainder of the suites rooms have been renovated with new carpets, decoration, soft furnishings and furniture.
Three renovated suites have been fitted with assisted bathrooms, a new spacious dining room has been created, and for two of the suites, there is a new kitchen servery area.
The gardens have been redesigned and now include sensory flowerbeds, a water feature, and a large patio area for enjoying in the warmer months. There are also three new conservatories where residents and their guests can enjoy the views.
The home’s residents are delighted with the work that has been done. One said: “It’s like a five-star hotel and I can’t believe I have my own bathroom!”
Karen Seabrook, Project Manager for Care UK which runs Kingsleigh, commented: “We are very pleased with our investment in the facilities and environment at the home. We have created a very pleasant environment for our residents, as well as additional, comfortable accommodation for new residents.”
