Yate’s newest care home celebrates grand launch with special guests

Highlighted home news

Residents, team members and the local community were joined by a host of special guests for the grand launch of the town’s newest care home.

Care UK’s Ladden View, on Fletcher Road, celebrated a special milestone as first resident, Ruby Harris was joined by the Mayor of Yate, Councillor Ben Nutland, to cut the ribbon and officially declare the new care home ‘open’.

To make it an afternoon to remember, guests enjoyed live entertainment from Travis the pianist and The Old Malthouse jazz band, who played a range of classic party tunes to get everyone into the celebratory spirit. The team at Ladden View also organised a host of exciting activities for residents’ families and the local community to enjoy, including a display of birds of prey and owls from Owl Adventure.

After being treated to a glass of bubbly and some tasty canapés, guests at Ladden View’s grand launch were invited to pose for a caricaturist, who was on hand to provide a funny, personalised souvenir sketch for the occasion.

Guests were also given the opportunity to tour the new home and sample some of the delicious home-cooked meals that residents will get to enjoy daily, prepared by the talented Head Chef, Jamie Kerton.

Ladden View’s local hero winner, Lisa Carpenter, was also in attendance. Lisa, who established Yasmin’s Dance in memory of her daughter, teaches dance classes to children aged 5-18 in Bristol. Every two years, the dance school organises a show to raise funds for the local hospital where Yasmin received care. Lisa was awarded the top prize of £300 by the team at Ladden View for her commitment to the community with her dance shows having raised thousands of pounds so far.

Sarah Daly, Home Manager at Ladden View, added: “Our grand launch party was a huge success and the perfect way to officially open Ladden View.

“Our neighbours have been so warm and welcoming, and we loved meeting so many local people, including Lisa – we already feel like part of the community!

“We were delighted to be joined by our special guests and would like to extend a big thank you to Councillor Ben Nutland for cutting the ribbon. It truly was a day to remember, and we hope to welcome everyone again very soon for more fantastic events at Ladden View.”

Mayor of Yate, Councillor Ben Nutland, commented: “It’s been wonderful to meet the residents and see how much care has gone into making Ladden View a real home. The staff here do amazing work, and it’s clear this will be a special place for the community.”

Ladden View is a state-of the-art care home providing full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the home has its very own cinema, hair salon and café, along with plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
