Care UK receives 11 shortlisting’s at the National Care Awards

Care UK has been shortlisted in 11 categories for the prestigious National Care Awards, including the Care Home Group Over 10 Settings category.

The National Care Awards celebrates its 26th year in 2024 and has spent more than a quarter of a century celebrating the achievements of providers, homes, and individuals from across the care sector. 

As a nominee for the Care Home Group Over 10 settings, Care UK outlined some of its most impressive achievements from 2023, including:

The award-winning ‘Hear Well’ project, which tackled reversible hearing loss in a number of homes and won the 2023 Nursing Times Social Care Award. 

The continued use of innovative technology, including PainChek, which enables our teams to identify when someone who cannot articulate pain needs intervention and Relish, which provides over 200 pre-prepared activities for residents and was used, on average, for 38,000 different activities per month this year. 

A number of Care UK homes are now internally accredited as providing ‘Care Fit for VIPs’ – as based on the University of Worcester’s expert framework – which marks the   highest possible endorsement of a truly person-centred approach to dementia care. This supports Care UK’s dedication to supporting those living with dementia and sharing our expertise. Last year, we created a new dementia guide, which saw more than 2,000 visits to our webpage from families and those from local communities who may need caring support.

• Care Housekeeper – Samantha Collins, Sway Place
• Care Chef – Lloyd Harrison, Deewater Grange
• Care Newcomer – Madeeha Samad, Carpathia Grange
• Care Home of the Year – Amberley Lodge
• Care Team – Priors House

The winners will be announced on 29^th November at Platinum Suite, in London.
