Hythe care home hosts sports day for local community

With the Olympics fast approaching, a local care home is limbering up for its very own sporting tournament.

On Wednesday 10^th July from 10.30am-12.30 pm, Care UK’s  Carpathia Grange on Southampton Road will be bringing Paris to Hythe as it opens its doors for local people to enjoy their own version of the Games. 

The event comes as Carpathia Grange joins The Big Care UK Sports Day, which sees over 130 Care UK homes across the UK host sports days for the local community and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

Guests can soak up the sporting atmosphere and, for those daring to compete, have the chance to win their own gold medals with an afternoon of fun and games, including egg-and-spoon races, rounders and wheelchair races. 

Visitors can also enjoy a VIP guest appearance from Scott Endersby, who has recently been crowed England’s Strongest Disabled Man 2024, as well as listen to a live singer and enjoy refreshments from the hydration hub and energy snack station.

Carpathia Grange will also be hosting a Keep Fit class for the Carpathia Active Aging Squad to participate in.

“The day not only promises a lot of laughter and enjoyment for all involved, but also is an excellent way for residents to meet and mingle with lots of new faces – and some familiar ones – while keeping active. We can’t wait until kick-off!”

Carpathia Grange is a three-storey care home which provides residential, dementia and nursing care. The home features 62 en-suite bedrooms and has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
