A care home in Woolmer Green has been celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III.
In a celebration fit for royalty, Care UK’s Knebworth, on London Road, hosted a street party for residents and relatives to mark the crowning of the new King.
To help get everyone in the party spirit, the team decorated the home in Union Jack flags and bunting, and everyone was encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
Local clarinet musician, Sally Frost treated everyone to some well-known tunes to get everyone singing and dancing.
The home’s talented chefs also prepared a traditional British buffet, including sandwiches and cakes.
91-year-old Beryl, a resident at Knebworth, said: “The party was very enjoyable – I especially loved the sing-along and seeing everyone having a good time together!”
Vera Moreira-Henocq, Home Manager at Knebworth, said: “Here at Knebworth, we love any excuse for a party and the King’s coronation was certainly a cause for celebration.
“Everyone had a lot of fun dancing and celebrating with their loved ones and many of the residents remember the coronation of the Queen, making this a lovely opportunity to share stories and reminisce over fond memories.
“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the team for organising a wonderful day, and to Sally for providing the delightful music – here’s to King Charles!”
