Love is in the air at Larkland House

A heart-themed extravaganza is set to take place at Care UK’s Larkland House residential home in Ascot this February – and they are opening the doors to visitors too.

The residents and team at Larkland House will be hosting a party at the home to celebrate Valentines and are inviting anyone aged 60 or over in the Ascot area to come and join them for the party on Wednesday 20th February.

Customer Adviser at Larkland House Stephanie McKenzie said: “It will be a fun afternoon with heart-themed cakes, dancing and lots for people to chat about.

“We want to welcome the community into our home and so the event is open to anyone over 60 years old and we also welcome any carers who want to bring the friend or relative they care for along to the party.”

Visitors to the Ascot District Day Centre are also invited and transport is being arranged from the centre to the home in London Road, Ascot.

Stephanie said: “Many of our residents have lived in the Ascot area most of their lives, so it will be nice for them to meet up with friends and we also want people to see what we do at Larkland House.

“Music and dancing are great ways to help keep in shape and form new friendships, which is why we always make sure we have a fun-packed diary of activities.”

Keeping with the over-60s theme, DJ Sid Wells, who is himself 85-years-old, will be providing the music for the party, which runs from 2-4pm.

Sid DJ’s at tea parties and dances across the region and was inspired to take to the decks 30 years ago. He said: “You are only as old as you feel and music is a great way to stay young. I can guarantee there will be singing, toe-tapping and a dance or two as well.”

Anyone interested in attending the tea party should contact Stephanie McKenzie on 01344 872121.
