Our chef provides healthy, delicious meals which can be enjoyed in the luxury dining rooms, or while relaxing in private, if preferred.

Nursing care

Our highly trained and experienced nursing team provides round-the-clock clinical care for residents with a variety of complex needs. We work with you and your loved one to create a tailored care plan which is regularly reviewed. Our close working relationships with local healthcare teams ensures your loved one receives the best possible care.

Respite care

We understand caring for an older loved one at home can be physically and emotionally challenging, our short-term respite care, gives you the chance to have a holiday or the opportunity to have some time for yourself.

Our caring and attentive team are ready to welcome your loved one, and ensure their stay is a pleasant one. This can be from getting involved in activities and being more active to socialising with new people.

End of life care

We believe that every person deserves to experience a dignified and respectful end to their life. Our caring and empathetic team provides sensitive end-of-life care. We work with you and your loved one, as well as local health professionals and hospice teams, to plan your loved one’s care so they receive the care they want, where and how they want it.

Getting to know you

We take the time to get to know you and your loved one, this starts from our very first conversation. We get to know what will settle them when moving in, and everything about them. We learn all about your loved one’s life story and personality, so we know what will calm them and make them happy.

Dementia friendly environments

Our immediate surroundings can have a huge impact on our quality of life, particularly when trying to make sense of the world around us. We work with academic partners to create care home environments that help people living with dementia – this can be from colour palettes, textures to even sounds played!

Our people and training

We believe that our people make Colne View a special place to be. Our people have been chosen for their attitude, dedication, and caring nature. We are highly passionate about ensuring our care home is part of our local community. That’s why in 2018 Customer Relations Manager, Kim, set up dementia-friendly cinema screenings at the local, volunteer-run cinema, Halstead Empire Theatre. They have been a staple of the local community ever since and resulted in been awarded the Community, Partnership and Collaboration award at the Essex Care Awards 2023.

Support for families and carers

We understand that a dementia diagnosis will affect more than just the individual, at Colne View we’re here to support the family too. Seeing a loved one change can be a difficult and heart-breaking experience, we are here if you need a listening ear or if you would like to know more about local support services.

Namaste care

We are proud to offer namaste care to residents living with advanced dementia. The purpose of namaste care is to give comfort and pleasure through sensory stimulation. Our namaste sessions are run by trained carers and involve individual caring touch, such as a hand or foot massages, music therapy, themed sensory and gentle movement sessions, or simply reminiscing.
