Maids Moreton care home put best foot forward in firewalk charity challenge

Colleagues at Care UK’s Maids Moreton home have donated over £1,200 to local children’s charity, Harry’s Rainbow.

Harry’s Rainbow is a charity that supports children going through bereavement. The charity facilitate connection with other children and young people in similar circumstances, to help relieve isolation and loneliness but also promote healthy living and wellbeing.

The team at Maids Moreton Hall held a raffle and completed a fire walk challenge to help raise funds for the charity. They raised £609, and, with the support of Care UK’s matched funding scheme, a total donation of £1,218 was made to the charity.

Care UK’s matched funding scheme meets colleagues’ fundraising efforts up to £1,000 for UK-based charities. This ensures that we support charities in the areas in which our homes operate, as well as donating to national causes.

Maid Moreton’s donation to Harry’s Rainbow will provide support to 20 children and their families.

Speaking on the fundraising, Andrea Bullen, Admissions Advisor at Maids Moreton Hall said: “We are so grateful for everyone who came together to donate to this incredible cause. This charity is very close to the team’s heart, and we couldn’t think of a better charity to raise funds for. I am so pleased that Care UK matched our donation, allowing us the opportunity to help even more children.”
