Work has now started on a new multi-million-pound care home in Stafford – which will have its very own café, bar, cinema and hair salon.
When finished, the new Care UK home, on Cannock Road, will provide residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for 76 older people, and will create more than 90 jobs in the community.
The home, which is expected to welcome the first residents in summer 2026, will include facilities such as a cinema, bar, café and hair salon. Plans include a secure and wheelchair-friendly landscaped outdoor space, which will include sensory gardens, water features and seating, to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.
Marcus Sorrell, Lead Development Manager for Care UK, said: “We’re delighted to share that work has commenced at Stafford’s new Care UK site – this impressive development reflects our commitment to improving residential care in the region.
“At Care UK, we take great pride in the build quality of each home, carefully considering design and layout in order to improve the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment. This thoughtfully planned new home will live up to these standards, providing a high-quality home for older people in Stafford and surrounding areas.”
Deeley Construction, a leading care, healthcare and retirement living developer based in the West Midlands, has been appointed to build the new home.
Martin Gallagher, Managing Director at Deeley Construction, added: “Construction is off to a great start and we’re on track to complete the work by summer 2026. We’re thrilled to be working with Care UK on their brand-new Stafford care home, bringing our expertise as a developer to the project.
“This is our first project with Care UK and we are proud to be involved with this important development for the community in Stafford.”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new Care UK home in Stafford will incorporate plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
