New leadership team takes the helm at Sarisbury Green care home

New leadership team takes the helm at Sarisbury Green care homeA new care home in Sarisbury Green has appointed its senior team ahead of its opening next year.

Home manager, Ray Arnold, will lead the team at Care UK’s Ancasta Grove, on Barnes Lane, when it opens in March 2021, having spent over 13 years working in a number of roles across the care sector, including residential, nursing, and dementia care.

In addition to a host of qualifications in adult care, Ray was previously home manager at Care UK’s Pear Tree Court, in Horndean, and Carpathia Grange, in Hythe, so he is well-equipped to take on the day-to-day running of Ancasta Grove, which will accommodate up to 75 residents.

Ray prides himself on setting high standards and being a good listener, and understands the importance of training. As such, he believes the key to providing the best possible care is to ensure team members feel supported and empowered in their roles.

Commenting on his new position, Ray said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the home manager at Ancasta Grove, and I look forward to leading a skilled and supportive team when we open the doors next year.

“Having successfully achieved it in the past, I know just how incredibly exciting being able to create a positive, caring culture from scratch at a brand-new care home can be, and I look forward to leading a highly skilled and supportive team.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know the residents and finding out what they enjoy, and how they would like the home to be run to ensure it’s a place they love to live. I can’t wait to start a new chapter here in Sarisbury Green.”

Ray will have the support of Chris Roby, who will take on the role of customer relations manager at the home. Previously customer relations manager at Care UK’s Pear Tree Court, in Horndean, Chris has a wealth of experience in the care sector, including dementia care, and has already worked with Ray twice in the past. Having set up a dementia-friendly film club in his previous roles as well as a dementia-friendly community in Waterlooville, which he chaired alongside Ray, he’s keen to bring similar initiatives to Ancasta Grove.

Speaking about his role, Chris said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of a new team here in Sarisbury Green. I loved my previous role at Pear Tree Court, and I already have lots of ideas to make the Ancasta Grove a fantastic place to live and create a dementia hub for the community. Most of all, I am looking forward to meeting new families and residents and making them feel at home.”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the new care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close knit communities.
