A new care home opening in Bracknell next year has donated to a local carers’ support charity, to help build new ties with the local community.
Care UK’s Bickerton House, on Warfield Road, has donated £250 to help Signal4Carers, a leading charity which provides free support and guidance to all unpaid and non-professional carers in Bracknell.
Erika Smith, home manager at Bickerton House, said: “We’re really keen to play our part in supporting our local community, so when we heard about the amazing work Signal4Carers does, we wanted to do what we could to help.
“It was lovely to meet Sharon from Signal4Carers and hear more about the wonderful work the charity does. Our ethos at Bickerton House is to help people live fulfilling lives, and I can see that Signal4Carers has the same values as us, so it is truly an honor to support them.”
Sharon Bowden, from Signal4Carers, said: “We cannot thank Bickerton House enough for its support, the money will be used to help our cause to continue to support unpaid carers in the Bracknell area.”
Opening January 2020, the purpose-built care home has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, and will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities, including its own cinema, hair salon and café.
Join the team at Bickerton House on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th January, from 10am-4pm, for the open weekend. Locals can learn more about the lifestyle at Bickerton House and its facilities, enjoy complimentary refreshments and take a tour of the home.
