In 2022, Care UK celebrated 40 years of care

To mark the occasion, we wanted to do something special. We challenged our teams to spend 40 days giving back to their local communities

Through fundraising activities and challenges, colleagues and residents took on the goal of raising thousands of pounds for charities across the UK - including local hospices and hospitals and national charities like The Care Workers' Charity and The Alzheimer's Society.

Our teams took part in daring challenges and fun events, from a 400 mile cycle and an amazing abseil to pub quizzes and community cake sales.

Read about just a few of our highlights...

  • Montfort Manor hosted fancy dress events throughout the month. From 'Pirate' to 'Las Vegas', each themed party included a raffle and live music.
  • Cavell Court hosted a cake sale to raise funds for Alzheimer's Society.
  • Guests at The Potteries enjoyed plenty of cake with their 'Mad Hatter's tea party' in honour of the 40th, where everyone was encouraged to wear 'ruby red'!
  • Tippethill have gone above and beyond, smashing their fundraising target by raising over £3,200 through the events and raffles hosted during the 40 days of giving back.
  • Knebworth welcomed three members of the exec during their 400-mile fundraising cycle, showing their support with a cup of tea on arrival. The team have been doing their own static cycle fundraising challenge too.
  • Appleby House hosted an ‘Evening of Music’, hosting a party in an elegant marquee for residents, colleagues and friends. The team raised £703 for the three charities - Age Concern Epsom and Ewell, Musical Memories and NAPA.

In September, three of Care UK’s directors cycled 400 miles from Care UK's oldest home to its newest home as part of our '40 days of giving back' campaign celebrating Care UK's 40th birthday.
