Welcome to Anning House

Our home sits in the historic part of this charming Dorset seaside town. Here our dedicated team provide nursing, dementia and residential care, as well as short term respite care.

With a calm and welcoming atmosphere, residents enjoy the open views onto the seafront or our beautifully landscaped gardens - home to our pet chickens. Our location means residents can access many nearby amenities, and there are excellent connections to the road and rail network.

Our modern home provides luxury in every area, from our stylish lounges and our range of ensuite bedrooms. We have something for everybody and provide high-quality care and quality of life. We provide a varied activity programme and our minibus outings to local areas of interest are a hit with residents.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

The staff get to know the residents as individuals, and not just the care staff but the cleaning staff, the catering staff too... it's a community. They address residents by their names and always have close contact with them… they treat residents with respect, as if they were their own family.

My relative has specific needs and the care team are marvelous... they are very attentive to his needs, not only relating to his perosnal care, but also to his dietary requirements and his ability to participate in activities. I receive a weekly email from the home telling me about the events happening that week... they always have something going on, such as bringing in animals, singers, playing games.

Compared to other care homes we visited it is like a hotel. It just doesn't look like a typical care institution, more like someone's home, with nice furnishings, lighting and decor... it's a very welcoming environment. The staff are excellent and they take very good care of my loved one. It is one to one care.

The home is purpose built and has qualified nursing staff on site. In general the care staff are empathetic and very dedicated. The meals are excellent in terms of presentation and how the residents are served them.
